     Thomas Brooks, 1st Baron Crawshaw of Crawshaw was born on 15 May 1825.1 He was the son of John Brooks and Alice Marshall.2 He married Catherine Jones, daughter of John Jones, on 7 August 1851.1 He died on 5 February 1908 at age 82.1
     Thomas Brooks, 1st Baron Crawshaw of Crawshaw was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Leicestershire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lancashire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Lancashire in 1884.1 He was created 1st Baronet Brooks [U.K.] on 9 February 1891.1 He was created 1st Baron Crawshaw of Crawshaw, co. Lancaster and of Whatton, co. Leicester [U.K.] on 25 August 1892.1

     Catherine Jones was the daughter of John Jones.2 She married Thomas Brooks, 1st Baron Crawshaw of Crawshaw, son of John Brooks and Alice Marshall, on 7 August 1851.1 She died on 26 June 1917.1
     From 7 August 1851, her married name became Brooks. As a result of her marriage, Catherine Jones was styled as Baroness Crawshaw of Crawshaw on 25 August 1892.
