     James Eustace, 3rd Viscount Baltinglass was born before 1558.1 He was the son of Rowland Eustace, 2nd Viscount Baltinglass and Joan Butler.1 He married Mary Travers, daughter of Henry Travers and Genet Preston, before 27 July 1568.2 He died on 25 November 1585 at Spain, without issue.1
     In 1576 he joined in with the 'Lords of the Pale' in a complaint as to taxes being levied without sanction of Parliament.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Viscount Baltinglass, co. Wicklow [I., 1541] on 31 March 1578.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baron Kilcullen, co. Kildare [I., 1535] on 31 March 1578.1 In 1581 15th Earl of Desmond against Queen Elizabeth I in the hope of placing Mary Queen of Scots upon Thrones of England and Ireland.3 In 1581 he joined the Earl of Desmond's plot to place the Queen of Scots on the English and Irish throne, and when it failed, he fled.1 In May 1585 he was attainted by Act of Irish Parliament called Statute of Baltinglass (passed ), and his titles forfeited.1
