John Dudley North, 13th Baron North1,2

     John Dudley North, 13th Baron North was born on 7 June 1917.1 He was the son of Dudley William John North and Dorothy Donne.1 He married Margaret Glennie, daughter of W. H. Glennie, in 1940.1 He died on 19 December 1941 at age 24, killed in action in H.M.S. Neptune, when it was sunk by enemy mines in the Mediterranean.1
     He succeeded as the 13th Baron North [E., 1554] on 10 December 1938.1,2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.2 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1941.1 On his death, his barony fell into abeyance his two sisters.1

     Margaret Glennie is the daughter of W. H. Glennie.1 She married, firstly, John Dudley North, 13th Baron North, son of Dudley William John North and Dorothy Donne, in 1940.1 She married, secondly, Weldon Bernard James in 1943.1
     From 1940, her married name became North. From 1943, her married name became James.

     Hon. Dorothy Anne North was born on 4 May 1915.1 She was the daughter of Dudley William John North and Dorothy Donne.1 She married, firstly, Major Robert Alexander Clive Graham, son of Captain William Lovett Cameron Graham and Marion Bethia Alexander, on 17 September 1937.1 She and Major Robert Alexander Clive Graham were divorced in 1950.1 She married, secondly, Major John Edward Richard Bowlby, son of Captain Geoffrey Vaux Salvin Bowlby and Hon. Lettice Annesley, on 23 September 1950.1 She died on 21 March 2011 at age 95.2
     From 17 September 1937, her married name became Graham. Circa 1938 she was granted the rank of a baron's daughter.1 From 23 September 1950, her married name became Bowlby.

     James Maitland Hog of Newliston was born on 7 August 1799.1 He was the son of Thomas Hog of Newliston and Mary Stuart.1,2 He was baptised on 25 August 1799 at Kirkliston, West Lothian, Scotland.2 He married Helen Maitland, daughter of Sir Alexander Charles Maitland, 2nd Bt. and Helen Gibson-Wright, on 7 August 1827.3 He died on 1 August 1858 at age 58.1
     He lived at Newliston, Linlithgowshire, Scotland.3
