     Robert Preston, Lord Gorton was the son of Sir John Preston, 4th of Valleyfield and Grizel Colville.¹ He married Margaret Bothwell, daughter of Alexander Bothwell of Glencorse and Mary Stewart.¹ He died in October 1764.¹
     He held the office of Lord of Session.¹ He was styled as Lord Gorton [Scots Law Lord].

     Mary Stewart is the daughter of James Stewart of Tullois.¹ She married Alexander Bothwell of Glencorse, son of Adam Bothwell of Pitscottie, Quhelpsyde and Glencorse and Janet Hart.¹
     Her married name became Bothwell.¹

     Helen Beatrice Allison married Benjamin Shaw Seed.¹
     Her married name became Seed.¹

     Dorothy Beatrice Seed was born in 1905.¹ She was the daughter of Benjamin Shaw Seed and Helen Beatrice Allison.¹ She married Edward Lutterell G. Byrom, son of Edward Byrom, on 9 June 1922 at Kilnwick, Yorkshire, England.¹
     From 9 June 1922, her married name became Byrom.¹
