Lady Cynthia Mary Evelyn Charteris was born on 27 September 1887. She was the daughter of Hugo Richard Charteris, 11th Earl of Wemyss and Mary Constance Wyndham. She married Hon. Herbert Asquith, son of Herbert Henry Asquith, 1st Earl of Oxford and Asquith and Helen Kelsall Melland, on 28 July 1910. She died on 31 March 1960 at age 72.

Perceval Lawrence Montagu Battye, on 17 February 1938. He and Diana Battye were divorced in 1952.
