He is the son of Alexander Henry Scrymgeour of Dundee, 12th Earl of Dundee and Siobhan Mary Llewellyn.1 He married Eloise van der Hayden, daughter of Ludovic van der Hayden, in 2005.2 He and Eloise van der Hayden were divorced.3
     He was styled as Lord Scrymgeour from 1982 to 1983. He was styled as Viscount Dudhope in 1983.
