     Grace Clavering was born circa 1657.1 She was the daughter of Reverend Thomas Clavering.1 She married Sir James Hay, 3rd Bt., son of Sir John Hay, 2nd Bt., on 23 July 1678.1 She died in 1753.1
     From 23 July 1678, her married name became Hay.1

     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)1 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Hay, of Smithfield, co. Peebles [N.S., 1635] on 23 May 1830.1
