     Sir John Yonge, 1st Bt. was born on 2 October 1603.1 He was the son of Walter Yonge and Jane Peryam.1 He married Elizabeth Strode, daughter of Sir William Strode and Mary Southcote, in 1621.1 He died on 26 August 1663 at age 59.1
     He was created 1st Baronet Yonge, of Culliton [England] on 26 September 1661.

     Walter Yonge was born in April 1579 at Colyton, Devon, England.1 He was the son of John Yonge and Alice Starre.1 He married Jane Peryam, daughter of Sir John Peryam and Elizabeth Prideaux, on 6 February 1601 at St. Olave, Exeter, Devon, England.1,2 He died in December 1649 at age 70 at Colyton, Devon, England.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Honiton.1 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was admitted to Middle Temple.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Devon in 1628.1 He wrote the book A Manual, or a Justice of the Peace his Vade-Mecum, published 1642.1
