     Sir John Davie, 1st Bt. was born in 1589.3 He is the son of John Davy and Willmott Petre.2 He married, firstly, Juliana Strode, daughter of Sir William Strode.3 He married, secondly, Isabel Hele in 1629.1
     Sir John Davie, 1st Bt. held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Tiverton in 1621.3 He held the office of High Sheriff of Devon in 1629.3 He was created 1st Baronet Davie, of Creedy [England] on 9 September 1641.3 He lived at Creedy.3
