Elizabeth Stapleton was born circa 1441.2 She was the daughter of Sir Miles Stapleton and Katherine de la Pole.1,2 She married, secondly, Sir John Fortescu.1 She married, firstly, Sir William Calthorpe, son of Sir John Calthorpe and Anne Wythe, in 1458 at Burnham Thorpe, Norfolk, England.1,2,3 She married, thirdly, Admiral Sir Edward Howard, son of Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk and Elizabeth Tylney, after 28 July 1500.1 She died on 18 February 1504/5.1
Her married name became Fortescu.1 From 1458, her married name became Calthorpe.1 From after 28 July 1500, her married name became Howard.1

Sir Miles Stapleton was born circa 1408.2 He was the son of Sir Brian Stapleton and Cecily Bardolf.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Felbrigge, daughter of Sir Simon Felbrigge.2 He married, secondly, Katherine de la Pole, daughter of Sir Thomas de la Pole and Anne Cheney, in 1438.2 He died on 1 October 1466.2
