James David Gibson-Watt, Baron Gibson-Watt was born on 11 September 1918. He was the son of James Miller Gibson-Watt and Marjorie Adela Ricardo.2 He married Diana Hambro, daughter of Sir Charles Jocelyn Hambro and Pamela Cobbold, on 10 January 1942.3 He died on 7 February 2002 at age 83.4
