     George Livingstone, 4th Earl of Linlithgow was the son of George Livingstone, 3rd Earl of Linlithgow and Lady Elizabeth Maule.1 He married Hon. Henrietta Sutherland, daughter of Sir Alexander Sutherland, 1st Lord Duffus and Lady Margaret Stuart, on 9 March 1679.1,2 He died on 7 August 1695, without issue.1

     Peter de Salis, 1st Comte de Salis was born on 1 September 1675.1 He married Margaretha de Salis-Soglio, daughter of Hercules de Salis-Soglio, on 1 October 1701.1 He died on 14 November 1749 at age 74.1
     He was employed by Three Leagues Envoy to the Court of St. James in the reigns of Queen Anne and King George I, and in 1714 to the Peace Treaty of Utrecht. in 1710.1 In 1727 Granted citizenship rights of Coire (Chur); built the Alte Gebau in Coire.1 He took a leading part in the Three Leagues affairs. In Canton Thurgau, Seigneur of the Imperial Fiefs of Oberaich and Enigshofen, which his grandparents bought in 1646. 1710 Three Leagues’ Envoy to the Court of St. James in the reigns of Queen Anne and King George I, and in 1714 to the Peace Treaty of Utrecht. 1716 promoted Field Marshall in Venetian Service. 1727 granted citizenship rights of Coire (Chur); built the Alte Gebau in Coire. 12.3.1748 created Count of the Holy Roman Empire. Major in French service and Colonel in Gotteshausbund.

He encouraged his son to settle and marry in England.1 He was created 1st Comte de Salis [Holy Roman Empire] on 12 March 1748.2
