     Etienne Portal was the son of Guillaume Portal and Marie de Mirman.2 A contract for the marriage of Etienne Portal and Lucrèce Perrotet was signed on 28 April 1632.1 He died circa 1671.1
     He was an ecuyer.1 He was one of the Anciens du Consistoire of Bagnols.1 They also had a younger son and two daughters.1 He lived at Bagnols, Languedoc, FranceG.1

     Lucrèce Perrotet is the daughter of Jean de Perrotet and Isabeau de Sameria.2,1 A contract for the marriage of Lucrèce Perrotet and Etienne Portal was signed on 28 April 1632.1
     From 28 April 1632, her married name became Portal.1 They also had a younger son and two daughters.1

     Jean Francois Portal was born on 3 November 1642.1 He was the son of Etienne Portal and Lucrèce Perrotet.2 He married by contract, firstly, Françoise Grimaudet Grimaudet, daughter of Benjamin Grimaudet and Jeanne Pain, on 10 February 1682 at Poiters, Poitou-Charentes, FranceG.1 He married Marie Gousset, daughter of Jacques Gousset, on 28 April 1700.1 He died in 1705.1
     He was he was an ecuyer.1 He held the office of Conseiller du Roi.1 He held the office of Seigneur de la Vau-Guiot.1 They also had an older son, two younger sons and seven daughters.1 He emigrated to London, England, arriving on 1699 to escape from religious persecution.1 He lived at Poiters, Poitou-Charentes, FranceG.1

     Reverend Peter William Portal was baptised on 25 December 1685 at Poitiers, Poitou-Charentes, FranceG.1 He was the son of Jean Francois Portal and Françoise Grimaudet Grimaudet.2 He married Mary Magdalen Meure, daughter of Andrew Meure, on 2 January 1724.1 He died in 1768.1
     He was also known as Pierre Guillaume Portal.1 He was the Rector at Clowne, Derbyshire, England.1 He was the Vicar at South Fambridge, Essex, England.1

     Mary Magdalen Meure was the daughter of Andrew Meure.2 She married Reverend Peter William Portal, son of Jean Francois Portal and Françoise Grimaudet Grimaudet, on 2 January 1724.1 She died in 1754.1
     From 2 January 1724, her married name became Portal.1

     Reverend Andrew Portal was born in 1725.1 He was the son of Reverend Peter William Portal and Mary Magdalen Meure.2 He married Frances Nethersole.1 He died in July 1775, having had issue.1
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was the Vicar at St. Helen's, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England.1 In 1755 he translated The Orations of Eschines against Ctesiphon.1
