     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the First World War, with the Coldstream Guards.1 He fought in the Second World War, with the Royal Artillery.1

     He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.).1 He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.).1 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the service of the Royal Air Force.1
