     Reverend Thomas Gordon Torry Anderson was born on 9 July 1805 at Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of Patrick Torry and Jane Young.1 He married, firstly, Ann Vernona Simmons Gaskin Anderson on 28 December 1828 at Duddingston, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Jane Sutter, daughter of Dr. Thomas Sutton, in 1838.1 He married, thirdly, Mary Hensleigh, daughter of Henry Prideaux Hensleigh and Mary Norrington, in 1854.1 He died on 20 June 1856 at age 50 at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1
     He was given the name of Thomas Gordon Torry at birth.1 He was educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 He graduated from University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 In 1828 his name was legally changed to Thomas Gordon Torry Anderson.1
