     Elizabeth Crompton was the daughter of Windmill Crompton.1 She married Hugh Hume-Campbell, 3rd Earl of Marchmont, son of Alexander Hume-Campbell, 2nd Earl of Marchmont and Margaret Campbell, on 30 January 1747/48.1 She died on 12 February 1797.1
     After her marriage, Elizabeth Crompton was styled as Countess of Marchmont on 30 January 1747/48. From 30 January 1747/48, her married name became Hume-Campbell.1
