Major Melvil Farrant was the son of Colonel Henry Cecil Binstead Farrant.2 He married Hon. Anne Rachel Millicent Hewitt, daughter of Archibald Robert Hewitt, 6th Viscount Lifford and Helen Blanche Geach, on 11 April 1917.1 He died on 29 June 1961.1
