     Arthur Forbes, 2nd Earl of Granard was born circa 1656.2 He was the son of Arthur Forbes, 1st Earl of Granard and Catherine Newcomen.2 He married Mary Rawdon, daughter of Sir George Rawdon, 1st Bt. and Hon. Dorothy Conway, in 1678.1 He died on 24 August 1734 at Symon's Court, County Dublin, Ireland.2
     Arthur Forbes, 2nd Earl of Granard fought in the Battle of Saspach.1 He fought in the Battle of Buda in 1686.1 He was Colonel of the 18th Foot between 1686 and 1688.1 He was imprisoned in the Tower of London.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Viscount of Granard, co. Longford [I., 1675] in 1695.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Earl of Granard [I., 1684] in 1695.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Forbes, of Castle Forbes, Co. Longford, Ireland [N.S., 1628] in 1695.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Clanehugh, co. Longford [I., 1675] in 1695.1 He had two other sons.1

     Mary Rawdon was born in 1661.2 She was the daughter of Sir George Rawdon, 1st Bt. and Hon. Dorothy Conway.1,2 She married Arthur Forbes, 2nd Earl of Granard, son of Arthur Forbes, 1st Earl of Granard and Catherine Newcomen, in 1678.1 She died on 1 April 1724.2
     From 1678, her married name became Forbes. As a result of her marriage, Mary Rawdon was styled as Countess of Granard in 1695.

Dorothy Conway, daughter of Edward Conway, 2nd Viscount Conway of Conway Castle and Frances Popham, in September 1654.3 He died on 18 August 1684.3
     Sir George Rawdon, 1st Bt. lived at Moira, County Down, Ireland.4 He gained the title of 1st Baronet Rawdon.
