Maria d'Enghien, Vrouwe van Sottegem Burggravin van Gent was born in 1290.1 She was the daughter of Gerard d'Enghien Heer van Sottegem and Maria Burggravin van Gent Vrouwe van Houdain.1 She married Guy de Dampierre, son of Guillaume de Dampierre, Heer van Dendermonde en Crèvecoeur and Alix de Beaumont-en-Beauvaisis, Comtesse de Châteaudun, in 1315.1 She died in 1318.1

Sir Michael Barker Nairn of Rankeilour, 1st Bt. was born on 29 May 1838.1 He was the son of Michael Nairn and Catherine Ingram.2 He married Emily Frances Spencer, daughter of Alfred Rimington Spencer, on 7 June 1866.1 He died on 24 November 1915 at age 77.1
He was Chairman of Michael Nairn & Co, Nairn Linoleum USA, Compagnie Française de Linoleum Nairn Orly and Germania Linoleum-Werke.1 He lived at Springfield, Fife, Scotland.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms as under designation ‘of Rankeilour', and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court under designation ‘of Rankeilour' on 26 November 1904.1 He succeeded as the 1st Baronet Nairn, of Rankeilour, Collessie, and Dysart House, Dysart, co. Fife [U.K., 1904] on 16 December 1904.1
