Maj.-Gen. Sir Henry Hugh Clifford, V.C. was born on 12 September 1826 at Irnham, Lincolnshire, England.1,3 He was the son of Hugh Charles Clifford, 7th Baron Clifford of Chudleigh and Mary Lucy Weld.2 He married Josephine Elizabeth Anstice, daughter of Joseph Anstice, on 21 March 1857.1 He died on 12 April 1883 at age 56 at Chudleigh, Devon, England.1,3 He was buried at Chudleigh House, Chudleigh, Devon, England.3
Maj.-Gen.
