     Maj.-Gen. Sir Frederick John Goldsmid married Mary Steuart, daughter of Lt.-Col. George Mackenzie Steuart and Mary Babington, on 2 January 1849.1 He died on 12 January 1908.2
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Madras Army.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.)1
