     Sir William Scott, Lord Clerkington was the son of Laurence Scott of Harprig.3 He married, secondly, Barbara Dalmahoy, daughter of Sir Alexander Dalmahoy of that Ilk.1 He married, firstly, unknown daughter Morrison, daughter of unknown Morrison of Prestongrange.3 He died on 23 December 1656.3
     He was appointed Knight in November 1641.3 He held the office of Commissioner of Haddington [Scotland] in 1645.3 He was styled as Lord Clerkington [Scot Law Lord] in June 1649. He held the office of Ordinary Lord of Session in June 1649.3 He held the office of Commissioner of Edinburgh [Scotland] in 1650.3
