     Alexander Macdonald, 9th of Glenaladale is the son of Angus Macdonald, 1st of Borodale.2 He married, firstly, unknown wife (?)1 He married, secondly, unknown daughter Macgregor.2
     He was a West Indies merchant.1 He purchased Glenaladale in 1773 from John Macdonald, 8th of Glenaladale.1
