Elizabeth Macdowall was born on 1 March 1786 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG.1,2 She was the daughter of James Macdowall and Margaret Jamieson.3 She married Henry Thomas Cockburn of Bonaly, Lord Cockburn, son of Archibald Cockburn and Janet Rennie, on 12 March 1811 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1,2 She died in 1857.1
