Hugh Michael Seely, 1st and last Baron Sherwood was born on 2 October 1898.2 He was the son of Sir Charles Hilton Seely, 2nd Bt. and Hilda Lucy Grant.1 He married, firstly, Hon. Molly Patricia Berry, daughter of William Ewart Berry, 1st Viscount Camrose and Mary Agnes Corns, on 23 March 1942.1 He and Hon. Molly Patricia Berry were divorced in 1948.1 He married, secondly, Catherine Thornton on 16 March 1970.1 He died on 1 April 1970 at age 71, without issue.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the South Nottinghamshire Hussars.3 He gained the rank of Squadron Leader in the 504 (County of Nottingham) (F) Squadron, Royal Auxiliary Air Force.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for East Norfolk between 1922 and 1924.3 He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire in 1925.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Nottinghamshire in 1926.3 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Seely, of Sherwood Lodge, Arnold, Nottinghamshire and Brooke House, Isle of Wight [U.K., 1896] on 26 February 1926.3 He held the office of Assistant Whip (Liberal) in 1935.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Berwick-upon-Tweed between 1935 and 1941.3 He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary in 1940, to the Secretary of State for Air.3 He held the office of Joint Under Secretary of State for Air between 1941 and 1945.3 He was created 1st Baron Sherwood, of Calverton, co. Nottingham [U.K.] on 14 August 1941.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Air Commodore in 1947 in the Royal Air Force.3
On his death, the Barony of Sherwood became extinct.1

William Francis Macauley was born on 30 September 1953.1 He was the son of William Perine Macauley and Hon. Diana Phyllis Berry.2 He married Nicola Jane Thompson, daughter of Eric David Thompson, in 1992.1 He died on 16 June 2019 at age 65.3

Hon. Diana Phyllis Berry was born in 1924.1 She was the daughter of William Ewart Berry, 1st Viscount Camrose and Mary Agnes Corns. She married William Perine Macauley, son of Timothy Alfred Macauley, on 7 April 1948.1 She died before March 1995.1
She was in the Women's Royal Naval Service during the Second World War.1 Her married name became Macauley.
