     Thomas William Coke, 3rd Earl of Leicester of Holkham was born on 20 July 1848.¹ He was the son of Thomas William Coke, 2nd Earl of Leicester of Holkham and Juliana Whitbread.² He married Hon. Alice Emily White, daughter of Luke White, 2nd Baron Annaly of Annaly and Rathcline and Emily Stuart, on 26 August 1879.³ He died on 19 November 1941 at age 93.¹
     He fought in the Egyptian Campaign in 1882.¹ He fought in the Suakin Campaign in 1885.¹ He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.).¹ He was decorated with the award of the Territorial Decoration (T.D.).¹ He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.).¹ He fought in the Boer War in 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King Edward VII between 1903 and 1910.¹ He held the office of Custos Rotulorum of Norfolk between 1906 and 1929.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk between 1906 and 1929.¹ He succeeded to the title of 3rd Earl of Leicester of Holkham, co.      Mary FitzGerald was born on 22 August 1666.¹ She was the daughter of Hon. Robert FitzGerald and Mary Clotworthy.¹ She married John Allen, 1st Viscount Allen, son of Sir Joshua Allen and Mary Wybrow, on 23 July 1684.¹ She died after 19 August 1697.¹
