Sir James Harvie-Watt, 2nd Bt. was born on 25 August 1940.1 He is the son of Sir George Steven Harvie-Watt, 1st Bt. and Jane Elizabeth Taylor.2 He married Roseline Gladys Virginia de Chollet, daughter of Baron Louis de Chollet, on 28 May 1966.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1959 and 1967 in the 1st Battalion, London Scottish Regiment (Territorial Army.)1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was with Coopers and Lybrand between 1962 and 1970.1 He was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.) in 1964.1 He was registered as a Member, Institute of Chartered Accountants (A.C.A.) in 1965.1 He was an executive with BET between 1970 and 1978.1 He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants (F.C.A.) in 1975.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.) in 1978.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Harvie-Watt, of Bathgate, co.
