     John Erwin Martens was the son of Erwin Gustav Martens.1 He married Diana Evelyn Mary Willoughby, daughter of W/Cdr. James Alexander Willoughby and Dorothea Maryon Burbrook, on 9 August 1941.1 He died in 1984.1
     He gained the rank of Flight Captain in the Air Transport Auxiliary.1
