     Deirdre Margaret Shannon was the daughter of Captain Peter Shannon.1 She married Quintin McGarel Hogg, Baron Hailsham of St. Marylebone, son of Douglas McGarel Hogg, 1st Viscount Hailsham and Elizabeth Brown, in 1986.1 She died on 22 December 1998.1
     After her marriage, Deirdre Margaret Shannon was styled as Baroness Hailsham of St. Marylebone in 1986. From 1986, her married name became Hogg.1

     Sophia Elizabeth Hobhouse was the daughter of Sir Benjamin Hobhouse, 1st Bt.2 She married Boyd Alexander, son of Claud Alexander of Ballochmyle and Helenora Maxwell, on 17 January 1828.1 She died on 19 October 1859.1
     From 17 January 1828, her married name became Alexander.

     Isabella Barbara Hume was the daughter of Thomas Cochrane Hume.1 She married, firstly, Captain John Hobhouse Inglis Alexander, son of Boyd Alexander and Sophia Elizabeth Hobhouse, on 23 January 1860.1 She married, secondly, John Archibald Shaw-Stewart, son of Sir Michael Shaw-Stewart of Greenhall and Blackhall, 6th Bt. and Eliza Mary Farquhar, in April 1881.1 She died in 1883.1
     From 23 January 1860, her married name became Alexander. From April 1881, her married name became Shaw-Stewart.1

Sir Claud Alexander of Ballochmyle, 1st Bt.1

     Sir Claud Alexander of Ballochmyle, 1st Bt. was born on 15 January 1831.1 He was the son of Boyd Alexander and Sophia Elizabeth Hobhouse.2 He married Eliza Spiers, daughter of Alexander Spiers, 3rd of Elderslie and Eliza Stewart Hagart of Bantaskine, on 12 February 1863.1 He died on 23 May 1899 at age 68.1
     He fought in the Crimean War.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Grenadier Guards.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Ayrshire between 1874 and 1885.1 He was created 1st Baronet Alexander, of Ballochmyle [U.K.] on 13 February 1886.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Ayrshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Renfrewshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of renfrewshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Ayrshire.1

     Alexander Spiers, 3rd of Elderslie was born on 29 April 1808 at Elderslie, Renfrewshire, Scotland.2 He was the son of Archibald Spiers, 2nd of Elderslie and Hon. Margaret Dundas.2 He married Eliza Stewart Hagart of Bantaskine, daughter of Thomas Campbell Hagart and Elizabeth Stewart, on 22 June 1836.1,2 He died on 5 October 1844 at age 36.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)1
