Sir William Forbes of Craigievar, 5th Bt. was born in 1755.1 He was the son of Sir Arthur Forbes of Craigievar, 4th Bt. and Margaret Strachan.2 He married Hon. Sarah Sempill, daughter of John Sempill, 13th Lord Sempill and Janet Dunlop, on 4 June 1780 at Sempill House, Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, ScotlandG.1,3 He died on 15 February 1816.1
He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Forbes, of Craigievar [N.S., 1630] on 1 January 1773.1

Janet Forbes was born on 11 September 1781 at Fintray, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG.2 She was the daughter of Sir William Forbes of Craigievar, 5th Bt. and Hon. Sarah Sempill.3 She married Alexander Forbes, son of Duncan Forbes-Mitchell of Thainstone and Katherine Ann Fraser, on 11 September 1811.1 She married Alex Forbes on 11 September 1811.3 She died on 15 February 1846 at age 64.1
