     Major Lewis Aloysius Macdonald Hastings was the son of Stephen T. G. Hastings.1 He married Edith Meriel Edmonstone, daughter of Lt.-Col. Neil Benjamin Edmonstone and Edith Isabella Lumsden, on 25 March 1920.1 He died in 1966.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Field Artillery.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 Major Lewis Aloysius Macdonald Hastings usually went by his middle name of Macdonald.1
