     Captain Lord Edward O'Brien was the son of Edward O'Brien and Mary Carrick.2 He married, firstly, Diana Hotham, daughter of General George Hotham and Diana Pennyman, in 1805.1 He married, secondly, Gertrude Grace Methuen, daughter of Paul Cobb Methuen and Matilda Gooch, on 11 April 1815.1 He married, thirdly, Lady Elizabeth Susan Somerset, daughter of Henry Charles Somerset, 6th Duke of Beaufort and Lady Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower, on 16 April 1822.3 He died on 9 March 1824.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.1

     Gertrude Grace Methuen was the daughter of Paul Cobb Methuen and Matilda Gooch.2 She married Captain Lord Edward O'Brien, son of Edward O'Brien and Mary Carrick, on 11 April 1815.1 She died on 1 May 1817.3
      From 11 April 1815, her married name became O'Brien.

     Paul Cobb Methuen was born on 15 June 1752.1 He was the son of Paul Methuen and Catharine Cobb. He married Matilda Gooch, daughter of Sir Thomas Gooch, 3rd Bt. and Anne Atwood, on 20 April 1776.1 He died on 14 September 1816 at age 64.1
     He lived at Corsham, Wiltshire, England. He was Member of Parliament (M.P.) Gt Bedwin , Sheriff Wilts 1780 in 1781.1

     Matilda Gooch was the daughter of Sir Thomas Gooch, 3rd Bt. and Anne Atwood.2 She married Paul Cobb Methuen, son of Paul Methuen and Catharine Cobb, on 20 April 1776.3 She died on 6 December 1826.1

     Sir Thomas Gooch, 3rd Bt. was born on 23 July 1720.1 He was the son of Rt. Rev. Sir Thomas Gooch, 2nd Bt. and Mary Sherlock.1 He married, firstly, Anne Atwood, daughter of John Atwood, in 1743.1 He married, secondly, Phoebe Norton, daughter of Isaac Norton, in November 1772.1 He died on 10 September 1781 at age 61.1
     He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Gooch, of Benacre Hall, Suffolk [G.B., 1746] on 14 February 1754.1
