He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier in 1921.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1944.1 He retired from the military in 1948, with the rank of Colonel, late of the 6th Ghurka Rifles.1
