Hon. John Dawnay1

     Hon. John Dawnay was born on 8 December 1686.1 He was the son of Henry Dawnay, 2nd Viscount Downe and Mildred Godfrey.2 He married Charlotte Louisa Pleydell, daughter of Robert Pleydell and Sarah (?), on 10 August 1724.1 He died on 12 August 1740 at age 53.1
     He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Pontefract between 1713 and 1716.1

Charlotte Louisa Pleydell1

     Charlotte Louisa Pleydell was baptised on 20 August 1696 at Ampney Crucis, Gloucestershire, England.2 She was the daughter of Robert Pleydell and Sarah (?)1,2 She married Hon. John Dawnay, son of Henry Dawnay, 2nd Viscount Downe and Mildred Godfrey, on 10 August 1724.1 She died circa April 1729.1 She was buried on 19 April 1729.1
     From 10 August 1724, her married name became Dawnay.

Henry Pleydell Dawnay, 3rd Viscount Downe1

     Henry Pleydell Dawnay, 3rd Viscount Downe was born on 8 April 1727.1 He was the son of Hon. John Dawnay and Charlotte Louisa Pleydell.2 He died on 9 December 1760 at age 33, unmarried.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Downe [I., 1681] circa May 1741.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Yorkshire between 1750 and 1760.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 25th Foot.1 He was Lord of the Bedchamber to the Prince of Wales.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1 He fought in the Battle of Minden in 1759.1 He fought in the Battle of Campen on 16 October 1760.1

John Dawnay, 4th Viscount Downe1

     John Dawnay, 4th Viscount Downe was born on 9 April 1728.1 He was the son of Hon. John Dawnay and Charlotte Louisa Pleydell.2 He married Laura Burton, daughter of William Burton, on 20 May 1763.1 He died on 21 December 1780 at age 52.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Cirencester between 1754 and 1768.1 He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Downe [I., 1681] on 9 December 1760.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Malton between 1768 and 1774.1

Laura Burton1

     Laura Burton was the daughter of William Burton.2 She married John Dawnay, 4th Viscount Downe, son of Hon. John Dawnay and Charlotte Louisa Pleydell, on 20 May 1763.1 She died on 24 April 1812.1
     After her marriage, Laura Burton was styled as Viscountess Downe on 20 May 1763. From 20 May 1763, her married name became Dawnay.

     Ronald Max Seaburne-May was born in 1921 at Kenya.1 He was the son of Captain Ronald G. Seaburne-May and Jacquetta May Fletcher.1 He died in June 1955 at Hong Kong, from polio.1
     He gained the rank of Sub-Lieutenant in 1941 in the Royal Navy.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1942.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.) in 1943.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in 1950.1

     William Henry Dawnay, 6th Viscount Downe was born on 20 August 1772.1 He was the son of John Dawnay, 4th Viscount Downe and Laura Burton.2 He married Lydia Heathcote, daughter of John Heathcote and Lydia Moyer, on 6 June 1811.1 He died on 23 May 1846 at age 73.1
     He was the Rector at Thormanby, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He was the Rector at Sessay, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 6th Viscount Downe [I., 1681] on 18 February 1832.1

Marmaduke Langley1

     Marmaduke Langley was born on 26 July 1777.1 He was the son of John Dawnay, 4th Viscount Downe and Laura Burton.2 He died on 1 October 1851 at age 74, unmarried.1
     He was given the name of Marmaduke Dawnay at birth.1 In 1824 his name was legally changed to Marmaduke Langley by Royal Licence.1
