     Lt.-Col. John Hardiman Burke was the son of John Hardiman Burke and Anne O'Hara.2 He died on 9 August 1863, from an illness contracted during the Crimean War.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 3rd Buffs.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 88th Connaught Rangers.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to General Sir John Burgoyne in Crimea.1 He fought in the Crimean War.1 He lived at St. Clerans, County Galway, Ireland.1

     Robert O'Hara Burke was born in 1821.1 He was the son of John Hardiman Burke and Anne O'Hara.2 He died in 1861 at Australia, perished on his expedition.1
     He gained the rank of Officer in the service of the Austrian Imperial Service.1 He was decorated with the award of the Gold Medal, Royal Geographical Society.1 In 1861 he was distinguished for his command of the Burke-Wills Expedition across Australia.1
