     Francis Boxwell was born on 27 July 1872.3 He is the son of John Boxwell and Elizabeth Honoria Frances Stokes.2 He married, firstly, Ethel Grace Bewley, daughter of Sir Thomas Bewley, on 11 November 1905.3 He married, secondly, Charlotte Hazel St. Leger, daughter of Richard William St. Leger, on 8 October 1913.3 He died on 20 January 1950 at age 77,.3
     Francis Boxwell was educated at Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.3 He was with the Indian Political Service.3 He lived at Butlerstown, County Wexford, Ireland.3
