     Richard Samuel Hungerford Townshend was born on 12 December 1888.1 He was the son of Thomas Achilles Townshend and Eveline Victoria Carmichael.2
     Richard Samuel Hungerford Townshend gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the North Staffordshire Regiment.1 He was a professional conjuror.1

     Hugh Townshend was born on 17 November 1890.1 He was the son of Colonel George Robert Townshend and Petrie Wisdom.2 He married Winifred Dora Mary Higham, daughter of Reverend Charles William Richard Higham, in 1920.1 He died on 9 July 1974 at age 83,.1
     Hugh Townshend was educated at King's School, Canterbury, Kent, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1912 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He fought in the First World War, with Royal Engineers.1 He was Director of Overseas Telecommunications, General Post Office.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1947.1 He lived at Puckaster Corner, Niton Undercliff, Ventnor, Isle of Wight, England.1
