     David Davies, 1st Baron Davies was born on 11 May 1880.3 He was the son of Edward Davies and Mary Jones.2 He married, firstly, Amy Penman, daughter of L. T. Penman, in 1910.3 He married, secondly, Henrietta Margaret Fergusson, daughter of James Grant Fergusson, on 9 December 1922.3 He died on 16 June 1944 at age 64.3
     David Davies, 1st Baron Davies lived Llandinam.3 He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Montgomeryshire between 1906 and 1929.3 He was commander of the 14th Battalion, Royal Welch Fusiliers between 1914 and 1916.3 He was chairman of Ocean Coal and Wilsons Ltd.3 He was a director of the Great-Western Railway.3 He was a director of Midland Bank.3 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.).3 He was created 1st Baron Davies, 1st Baron Davies [U.K.] on 21 June 1932.3 He was invested as a Knight of Grace, Order of St. John of Jerusalem (K.G.St.J.).3 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Montgomeryshire.3

     Gwendoline Elizabeth Davies was the daughter of Edward Davies and Mary Jones.2 She died on 3 July 1951, unmarried.1
     They amassed an art collection including works by Cézanne, Corot, Daumier, Millet, Monet, Rodin, Turner and Van Gogh, that they left to the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff.1 She was invested as a Companion of Honour (C.H.) in 1937.1

     David Michael Davies, 2nd Baron Davies was born on 16 January 1915.1 He was the son of David Davies, 1st Baron Davies and Amy Penman.2 He married Ruth Eldrydd Dugdale, daughter of Major William Marshall Dugdale, on 21 December 1939.1 He died on 25 September 1944 at age 29 at North-West Europe, killed in action.1
     David Michael Davies, 2nd Baron Davies graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Welch Fusiliers.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Davies, 2nd Baron Davies [U.K., 1932] on 16 June 1944.1
