     Hon. Islwyn Edmund Evan Davies was born on 10 December 1926.1 He was the son of David Davies, 1st Baron Davies and Henrietta Margaret Fergusson.2 He married Camilla Anne Coulden, daughter of Colonel Lawrence William Coulden, on 15 December 1959.1 He died on 5 October 2002 at age 75.1
     Hon. Islwyn Edmund Evan Davies was educated at Gordonstoun School, Elgin, Morayshire, Scotland.1 He gained the rank of officer in the service of the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.1 He was educated at Upper Canada College, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was educated at Harper Adams Agricultural College, Edgmond, Newport, Shropshire, England.1 He was Master of the Foxhounds, David Davies between 1947 and 1976.1 He was founder of Cambrian Land Ltd (3,000acre mixed farming enterprise).1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Univeristy of Wales, Wales, in 1978.1 He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1986.1 He was chairman of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society (Gold Medallist ), Montgomeryshire CLA and Gwendoline and Margaret Davies Charity (fnded by his aunts) in 1987.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Montgomeryshire.1 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Agricultural Society (F.R.Ag.S.).1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Powys before 2001.1
