     Captain Charles Evelyn Rowley was born on 30 June 1824.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Charles Rowley, 2nd Bt. and Frances Evelyn.2 He married Grace Anna Ward-Boughton-Leigh, daughter of John Ward-Boughton-Leigh and Theodosia de Malsburgh Leigh, on 11 May 1848.1 He died on 18 June 1879 at age 54, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.1
