Nicholas Lawless, 1st Baron Cloncurry was born on 3 December 1733.2,3 He was the son of Robert Lawless and Mary Hadsor.1 He married Margaret Browne, daughter of Valentine Browne, on 13 October 1761 at St. Peter's Church, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.4 He died on 28 August 1799 at age 65 at Maretimo, Blackrock, County Dublin, Ireland.1,4 He was buried at Crumlin, County Dublin, Ireland.4
Nicholas Lawless, 1st Baron Cloncurry held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lifford between 1776 and 1789.3 He was created 1st Baronet Lawless, of Abington, co. Limerick [Ireland] on 6 August 1776.3 He was created 1st Baron Cloncurry, of Cloncurry, co. Kildare [Ireland] on 29 September 1789.3 He had one other daughter.1
