     Colonel Alexander Charles Hamilton, 10th Lord Belhaven and Stenton was born on 3 July 1840.3 He was the son of William John Hamilton and Hon. Margaret Frances Florence Dillon.2 He married Georgiana Katharine Richmond, daughter of Legh Richmond, on 7 July 1880.3 He died on 31 October 1920 at age 80 at Wishaw House, Scotland, without surviving issue.4 He was buried at Cambusnethan Cemetery, Lanarkshire, Scotland.4
     Colonel Alexander Charles Hamilton, 10th Lord Belhaven and Stenton gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Royal Engineers.3 He fought in the Zulu War in 1879.3 He was Brigadier of the Surrey Volunteer Infantry Brigade between 1888 and 1902.5 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.).3 He succeeded to the title of 10th Lord Belhaven and Stenton, co. Haddington [S., 1647] on 6 September 1893.2 In July 1894 his title of Lord Belhaven and Stenton was confirmed in his favour by the House of Lords.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lanarkshire.5 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lanarkshire.5 He held the office of Representative Peer (Liberal Unionist) [Scotland] in 1900.3 He was decorated with the Territorial Decoration (T.D.).5

     Georgiana Katharine Richmond was the daughter of Legh Richmond.1 She married Colonel Alexander Charles Hamilton, 10th Lord Belhaven and Stenton, son of William John Hamilton and Hon. Margaret Frances Florence Dillon, on 7 July 1880.1 She died on 26 September 1932.2 She was buried on 30 September 1932 at Cambusnethan Cemetery, Lanarkshire, Scotland.2
     Georgiana Katharine Richmond also went by the nick-name of Lilly.3 Her married name became Hamilton. As a result of her marriage, Georgiana Katharine Richmond was styled as Lady Belhaven and Stenton on 6 September 1893.

     Lady Grizel Winifred Louisa Cochrane was born on 14 May 1880.1 She was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir Douglas Mackinnon Baillie Hamilton Cochrane, 12th Earl of Dundonald and Winifred Bamford-Hesketh.1 She married Lt.-Col. Ralph Gerard Alexander Hamilton, Master of Belhaven, son of Colonel Alexander Charles Hamilton, 10th Lord Belhaven and Stenton and Georgiana Katharine Richmond, on 1 March 1904.1 She died on 5 December 1976 at age 96.2 She was also reported to have died on 26 September 1932.3
     Her married name became Hamilton.

     Lt.-Col. Robert William Hamilton was born on 12 March 1833.1 He was the son of William John Hamilton and Martin Trotter.1 He married Charlotte Maria Palmer, daughter of Colonel George Palmer, on 10 July 1856.1 He died on 3 October 1883 at age 50.1
     He unsuccessfully claimed the Lordship of Belhaven and Stenton, on the death of the 8th Lord.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.1 He lived at Holyfield Hall, Essex, England.1
