     Robert Pringle of Stichill, younger was the son of Sir James Pringle of Stichill, 4th Bt. and Elizabeth Macleod.2 He married Sarah Macleod, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Norman MacLeod of MacLeod, 23rd Chief and Sarah Stackhouse, on 22 April 1806.1 He died in 1806.1
