     Vice-Admiral Berwick Curtis was born on 9 October 1876.¹ He was the son of Henry Downing Curtis and Ada Harriett Heath.² He married, firstly, Mildred Henrietta Curtis, daughter of Frank John Constable Curtis, on 24 July 1907.¹ He married, secondly, Violet Penelope Munro Thompson, daughter of J. B. Thompson, on 21 March 1929.¹ He died on 9 May 1965 at age 88.¹
     Vice-Admiral Berwick Curtis fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was decorated with the award of Order of St. Stanislaus of Russia (2nd Class with swords).¹ He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) (and bar) in 1917.¹ He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1919.¹ He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1920.¹ He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George V in 1927.¹ He was Rear-Admiral in Chanrge and Superintendent of the Gibraltar between 1929 and 1931.¹ He retired from the military in 1932, with the rank of Vice-Admiral.¹ He fought in the Second World War, as Commodore of Convoys.¹

     Mildred Henrietta Curtis was the daughter of Frank John Constable Curtis.² She married Vice-Admiral Berwick Curtis, son of Henry Downing Curtis and Ada Harriett Heath, on 24 July 1907.¹ She died on 21 September 1927.¹
