Joseph Augustus Yorke was born on 22 September 1831.1 He was the son of Very Rev. Hon. Granthan Munton Yorke and Marian Emily Montgomery.2 He married Florence Mary Eliza Chambré, daughter of Thomas Chambré, on 3 February 1862.1 He died on 14 February 1881 at age 49.1
