     Sir James Howard, Lord Maltravers was baptised on 17 July 1607 with King James I of Great Britain as his godparent(s).1 He was the son of Thomas Howard, 21st Earl of Arundel and Lady Alethea Talbot, Baroness Talbot.1 He died in July 1624 at Ghent, Belgium, from smallpox, unmarried.1 He was buried at Arundel Castle, Arundel, Sussex, England.1
     He was styled as Lord Maltravers between 1607 and 1624.1 He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) on 4 November 1616.1

     Mary Southcote is the daughter of Sir John Southcote. She married John Stafford-Howard, son of William Howard, Viscount Stafford and Mary Stafford, in December 1682.
      Surrey.1 With three other daughters (Xaveria Beatrice.1 Nun.1 She lived Merstham.1 Her married name became Stafford-Howard. On 12 February 1696 baptised.1

     William Stafford-Howard, 2nd Earl of Stafford was born circa 1690.2 He was the son of John Stafford-Howard and Mary Southcote. He married Anne Holman, daughter of George Holman, circa 1718.2 He died in January 1733/34.2
      3rd BARON STAFFORD but for the attainder and 2nd EARL OF STAFFORD.2 He gained the title of 2nd Earl of Stafford.

     John Paul Stafford-Howard, 4th Earl of Stafford was born on 26 June 1700.1 He was the son of John Stafford-Howard and Mary Southcote. He married Elizabeth Mary Michael Ewens, daughter of Abraham Ewens, in 1738. He died on 1 April 1762 at age 61, without issue , when the Earldom expired.1
      5th BARON STAFFORD but for the attainder and 4th and last EARL OF STAFFORD.1 He gained the title of 4th Earl of Stafford.

     Elizabeth Mary Michael Ewens was the daughter of Abraham Ewens.2 She married John Paul Stafford-Howard, 4th Earl of Stafford, son of John Stafford-Howard and Mary Southcote, in 1738. She died on 16 January 1783.
     She lived Somerset.1 Her married name became Stafford-Howard.
