Francis Plowden was the son of Edmund Plowden and Elizabeth Cotton.2 He married Mary Stafford-Howard, daughter of John Stafford-Howard and Mary Southcote, on 1 October 1699.1 He died circa 27 April 1712.1 He was buried on 30 April 1712.3
He held the office of Comptroller of the Household to King James II.1
