     Francis Plowden was the son of Edmund Plowden and Elizabeth Cotton.² He married Mary Stafford-Howard, daughter of John Stafford-Howard and Mary Southcote, on 1 October 1699.¹ He died circa 27 April 1712.¹ He was buried on 30 April 1712.³
     He held the office of Comptroller of the Household to King James II.¹
