     Margaret Christian Garnett was born on 28 January 1913 at Manchester, Lancashire, England.1 She was the daughter of James Clerk Maxwell Garnett.1 She married Douglas Patrick Thomas Jay, Baron Jay in 1933 at Hampstead Parish Church, Hampstead, London, England.1 She and Douglas Patrick Thomas Jay, Baron Jay were divorced in 1972.1 She died on 21 January 2008 at age 94.1
     Margaret Christian Garnett also went by the nick-name of Peggy.1 From 1933, her married name became Jay.1
