     Colonel John Henry Monckton was born on 26 September 1850.2 He was the son of Major John Edmonstone Monckton and Julia Thornton.1,3 He married Flora Charlotte Reynell-Pack, daughter of Lt.-Col. Arthur John Reynell-Pack and Frederica Katherine Hely Hutchinson, on 9 November 1911 in a childless marriage.1 He died on 17 November 1919 at age 69.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Warwickshire.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the 3rd Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment.2 He lived at Meriden, Coventry, Warwickshire, England.2

     Major John Edmonstone Monckton was born in 1817.2 He was the son of Philip Monckton and Henrietta Carter.3 He married, firstly, Julia Thornton, daughter of Colonel Henry Thornton, on 13 December 1849.2 He married, secondly, Lucy Harriet Smith, daughter of Lt.-Col. John Smith, on 27 October 1869.2 He died on 2 August 1891.2
     He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 2nd Madras Light Cavalry.2

     Lt.-Col. James Oliphant was born on 23 August 1796.1 He was the son of Ebenezer Oliphant and Mary Stirling.2 He married, firstly, Lucy Maidman, daughter of George Maidman, in 1824.3 He married, secondly, Sophia Ann Trewman, daughter of General T. T. Trewman, in 1836.1 He died in 1881.1
     He lived at Worlington Hall, Suffolk, England.4 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Madras Engineers.3 He was a Director of the Honourable East India Company between 1844 and 1857.3 He was Chairman of the Honourable East India Company in 1854.3 He had four sons (who all died without issue ) and two daughters by his first wife.3
