Lt.-Col. Arthur John Reynell-Pack was born on 5 May 1817.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Sir Denis Pack and Lady Elizabeth Louisa Beresford.1 He married Frederica Katherine Hely Hutchinson, daughter of Colonel Hon. Henry Hely Hutchinson and Harriet Wrightson, on 28 December 1850.2 He died on 16 August 1860 at age 43.2 He was also reported to have died on 17 August 1860.1
He was given the name of Arthur John Pack at birth.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 7th Fusiliers.1 He was decorated with the award of the Chevalier, Légion d'Honneur.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).1 His name was legally changed to Lt.-Col. Arthur John Reynell-Pack on 13 June 1857 on succeeding his stepfather, Sir Thomas Reynell, Baronet, in the Manors of North and East Bowers, and East Chilton, Somerset, Sulgrave, Northamptonshire, and Netherton, Devon.1 He lived at Avisford, Sussex, England.1
